Chicago’s art scene is bursting with energy this June, particularly on the North Side, as the 5th annual Uptown Art Walk begins on Saturday, June 8.
This year, the event will feature the installation of 30 new murals, enriching the neighborhood’s already vibrant public art landscape.
The Uptown Art Walk offers something for every art enthusiast, including interactive and family-focused activities, food, live music, and games. These activities will be coordinated by Cornerstone Community Outreach and Uptown Church, with contributions from Alden Lakeland and CircEsteem.
Morgan Rose Murphy, owner of Northern Loon Studio, spoke with ABC7 Chicago about her artwork, which will be showcased at the event.
Throughout the week, Uptown’s small business community will also provide various opportunities to engage with visual arts.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 935 West Wilson Avenue.
