The Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer Tour featuring Glorilla concert at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena was abruptly canceled on Saturday, minutes before doors were set to open.
State Farm Arena released a statement explaining the cancellation:
“After speaking with the Mayor’s office regarding the continued water leak issues affecting downtown Atlanta, the City of Atlanta is unable to accommodate the Megan Thee Stallion performance scheduled for tonight.”
Prior to the official announcement, Megan Thee Stallion shared her frustration with fans via a video filmed inside the arena:
“Y’all was acting like I could perform, and now you’re telling me, ‘Oh by the way, when we was trying to fix the pipes, we found another issue, and now some more s— is going on,’” she said. “What! They’re playing with me.”
This cancellation follows the postponement of her Friday night concert, which was delayed to Sunday just an hour before the doors were supposed to open. Saturday night’s concert was canceled 30 minutes before doors were set to open.
Ongoing water main breaks in downtown Atlanta and Midtown have caused significant disruptions for residents and businesses, ultimately affecting the concert schedule.
• Saturday Tickets: State Farm Arena announced that tickets for Saturday’s concert would be honored at a make-up concert on Monday, June 3.
• Friday Tickets: Fans who purchased tickets for Friday night’s concert through Ticketmaster were informed they could request a refund no later than Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Fans who retained their tickets will see Megan perform on Sunday night.
Fans have expressed disappointment over the last-minute cancellations and schedule changes, while Megan Thee Stallion has voiced her frustration with the situation. The make-up concert on Monday aims to accommodate those affected by the disruptions.
